Community tribute to Jack Dromey MP.
People in Erdington are being invited to pay tribute to local MP Jack Dromey on Sunday 16th January. From 2-3pm outside the Co-op on Erdington High Street, district councillors, community leaders and local MPs will join an expected crowd of several hundred residents to reflect on Jack’s legacy.
The event is being co-ordinated by the Erdington Covid-19 Task Force and is set to include a number of speakers sharing their reflections and memories of the former Labour MP and trade union campaigner.
A spokesman said: “Jack’s dedication to helping local people was second to none. He was a principled and passionate man who worked tirelessly to improve lives and local communities.
“His legacy will live on through his many achievements, the friends he made and the lives he touched.”
Everyone is welcome to join in Sunday’s tribute event with people asked to meet outside the Co-op from 1.30pm with formal presentations set to start at 2pm.
