Andy Munro is positive about Blues’ decision to appoint Lee Bowyer as manager.
Lee Bowyer is rightly a popular choice as the new Blues’ boss as he was an influential figure in some of the few good times us Bluenoses have experienced in the last quarter of a century or more, back in those unforgettable days when we were League Cup winners and playing in the Premier League.
Bowyer has got a very decent (although not outstanding) managerial record with Charlton but the most important point is that many of us think he’s just the right fit. In many ways this is seen as a sort of homecoming for a popular former player.
Fair play to him as he’s taking a risk by joining one of the favourites for relegation and thanks to the board’s procrastination that is a real possibility. If we do go down then we have a manager who has got experience in getting promoted from a lower level back into the Championship. There’s still time to get out of trouble, but with the next four games against teams from the Championship’s top five then I’m not expecting miracles.
