Hotel du Vin Birmingham reveals seven figure room refurbishment.
Hotel du Vin Birmingham has undergone a £1 million investment to refurbish its suite of 66 bedrooms. Each room has been given a completely unique look to reflect this season’s latest trends. A favourite with both Colmore BID and the city’s visitors, Hotel du Vin has made its bed as one of the city’s favourite hotels and the team is confident the fresh new feel will reaffirm this.
A Victorian Grade II listed landmark that was formerly home to the Birmingham Eye Hospital from 1884, Hotel du Vin has now landed its first major refurbishment since opening in 2001. It is working alongside Dexter Moren Associates, who were recently nominated for the Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design category a the SBID Awards for its recent renovation of The Avon Gorge Hotel.
The phased development will see four stages of refurbishment, with the first beginning in June. Following Hotel du Vin’s signature style, each room will be given a modern, fresh, stylish feel that is unique to all the others in the hotel.
The development is expected to be completed in September, with some rooms already being unveiled from the first phase. The full bedroom transformations boast a new classical and contemporary style, that are filled with light and appear much brighter than the hotel’s previous rooms.
Tom Gallimore, General Manager of Hotel du Vin Birmingham, said: “We are extremely excited for the renovation to be complete; the bedrooms haven’t been decorated since the hotel opened over 18 years ago so it’s going to be a real change for us. I am really pleased with the plans and look forward to unveiling the new styled rooms once they are all ready to showcase. The team are all very excited and we all look forward to presenting the new classical styles.”
The bedrooms follow in the footsteps of the hotel’s soft refurbishment of the public areas from just three years ago, where the award-winning Bubble Lounge received a renovation inspired by the hotel’s traditional French feel. The Bistro was also renovated to an authentic French style with its reclaimed dark-stained floorboards, restored fireplaces, framed pictures and paintings, soft lighting and comfortable chairs.
Hotel du vin Birmingham is now the latest of the group to have a full bedroom transformation. The hotel is also home to one of the biggest beds in the city measuring at a remarkable 8ft, offering guests relaxation at its finest. The bed can be found in the hotel’s Principal Suite which will also be undergoing some changes in this latest renovation.
