Soul great to perform in Kings Heath.
There’s the chance to witness an intimate gig from a musical legend at the Kitchen Garden Cafe in Kings Heath on 6th June.
Cissy Stone’s CV reads like a Who’s Who of the music world. Soul legend Marvin Gaye once played keyboards in her band, and so too TwoTone founder Jerry Dammers. Her 1976 Decca release Gone But Not Forgotten has become a Northern Soul classic.
She recorded in Los Angeles with jazz giants George Duke and Steve Gadd, and sang at the NEC alongside rock icon Joe Cocker.
Now as well as her seven-piece Cissy Stone Band, Cissy has put together an exciting new project Cissy Stone, Acoustic, performing unplugged versions of songs from her acclaimed album Worth The Wait as well as some of her favourite soul and RnB classics.
Joining her for what promises to be a very special night are Sad Café bassist DesTong, guitarist Bob Wllson and saxophonist Sam Rogers.
