Butchers Social returns to Birmingham for one night only.
Leading Warwickshire-based bar and restaurant, The Butchers Social, has teamed up with Harvey Nichols Birmingham to bring a taste of the countryside to the city. The Great British Supper Club will be a one-off kitchen takeover at the Mailbox store, championing the very best of British produce and celebrating all that is great about British food.
From The Butchers Social’s infamous wings to the best dry-aged beef, the menu will combine the restaurant’s signature bold flavours with the stylish setting of the Harvey Nichols Brasserie. Taking place on Thursday 27th June, The Butchers Social Chef Director, Mike Bullard (pictured) will take the reins in the Harvey Nichols kitchen, working alongside Harvey Nichols head chef, Stewart Mackie. The duo have crafted a menu that showcases the finest produce Britain has to offer; combining classic ingredients with brave flavours, The Great British Supper Club is set to be a dining experience like no other.
Playing with rustic flavours, the luxury restaurant will be transformed into a scene from Escape To The Country. Think less barnyard and more Brum’s very own back yard, as the event brings country vibes to the heart of the city, with micro herb gardens, hay bale seating and acoustic music.
Mike Bullard, who opened The Butchers Social in Henley-in-Arden in 2016 following a successful pop-up in Harborne, comments: “We are so excited to be returning to Brum, where it all began for The Butchers Social. The city is bustling with so many brand new restaurants and bars that have opened over the past couple of years, and we’re looking forward to being part of the scene once again.
“The Butchers Social has always been about serving up the best possible food in a more relaxed environment than traditional restaurants. In the kitchen, we aim to create dishes that have familiarity – food that people know and love – but taking it to the next level. We celebrateproper food without the pretence, and champion only the finest seasonal produce. Bringing a taste of our Henley home to Harvey Nichols is going to be very special – it’s one not to be missed!”
Stewart Mackie, Head Chef at Harvey Nichols Birmingham adds: “It’s a privilege to share ideas and be inspired by other chefs and this collaboration is a great example of this. Our diners are always keen to try new flavours and new experiences and I’m in no doubt they’ll love what’s on the menu for the event”.
A world away from its pop-up roots in a disused butcher’s shop, The Butchers Social has now become one of Warwickshire’s leading restaurants, after moving to its Henley-in-Arden home. The popularity of the food and the relaxed atmosphere has ensured the success of The Butchers Social, and has guaranteed that it has become both a favourite local haunt for Henley-in-Arden, as well as a destination restaurant for those on a quest to find proper food without the pretence.
Tickets for the Great British Supper Club are priced at £50 and are on sale now here.
