Acclaim for BHX’s efficiency and enhanced passenger experience.
Birmingham Airport has been crowned UK Best Airport for its size by the industry trade body, the Airport Operators Association.
The achievement for best airport handling more than ten million passengers a year, was presented at a glitzy awards event in London this week. It recognises excellence and achievement across a whole range of areas, including: retail, security, operations, facilities, community relations, environmental awareness and customer service.
Simon Richards, the Airport’s Acting Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be presented with this accolade by the AOA, beating off stiff competition from other major UK airports in our category.
“We are particularly delighted that the award was judged by our airline customers, who have appreciated our progress and chosen to recognise it with this award. Credit must go to our employees and partner companies for the huge amount of hard work that has gone into improving our processes and customer experience over the last year.”
The Airport Operators Association is the trade body representing more than 50 UK Airports in the UK and the views of UK airports to Government, parliament and regulators to secure policy outcomes that help deliver their mission.
Chief Executive of the AOA, Karen Dee commented: “Aviation is a UK success story and our vibrant and innovative work is globally leading. The AOA Annual Awards showcased just a sample of that best-in-kind work, including around improving efficiency, reducing the impact of aviation on the environment and delivering an ever-improving passenger experience.”
You have got to be joking. Clearly not a vote of the passengers.
