21st birthday gala for ACE.
On Saturday 1st December ACE dance and music are hosting a not-to-be-forgotten evening. ACE Space will be the place to be, so come dressed to impress for a red-carpet gala, champagne reception, canapes and three course à la carte menu provided by Birmingham’s finest Caribbean caterers. And if that’s not enough there will be a whole evening of top-quality entertainment and DJ’s to take revellers late into the night.
Compere for the evening will be New Style Radio presenter and founder andof Strawberry Words, Rebbecca Hemmings. Entertainment will include outstanding dance performances from ACE dance and music’s professional company and ACE Youth, live music from BBC Young Jazz finalist Xhosa Cole,spoken word narration by artist Zane Burkmar and two of Birmingham’s finest DJ’s, G-Man and DJ G-Z plus much more.
ACE dance and music have established themselves as an integral part of the Birmingham dance ecology and are internationally recognised leaders in the field of contemporary African and Caribbean dance.
They have worked tirelessly to ensure that dance is at the heart of everything they do. They believe that it is important to create opportunities for young people and communities to participate and run classes and outreach programmes as well as performing and touring the highest quality of original work.
Artistic Director, Gail Parmel said: “It is an overwhelming and humbling achievement. I am honored that ACE dance and music has reached such an incredible milestone and we are looking forward to the next 21 years and beyond.”
