Naidex 2018 – Want to be part of the change?
Are we helping the most fragile people in our society? In 2018, disability is still considered an extremely sensitive topic to talk about in the UK. A concerning thought, as there are more than 13.3 million disabled people in the country – that’s approximately one in every five people. According to AgeUK, the number of people aged 75 and over is going to double in the next thirty years, further increasing the need for workers in the health and care sector, whilst also requiring us to maintain a thoroughly inclusive mindset throughout our daily lives.
So how exactly are we helping the most fragile people in our society in light of its increasing population in the near future? Events such as Naidex – the European hub for members of the public, healthcare professionals and businesses operating in the disability and independent living sector – can offer an insight into the solutions that are available for issues such as unemployment, rehabilitation, accessibility and inclusion.
