Smiths tribute to headline Birmingham PHAB Camps fundraiser.
The ever-popular Smiths music can be heard in the at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on the 29th March. The Joneses, a Smiths tribute band will be hosting a fundraiser gig with the Chain of Fools band. The money raised will support Birmingham PHAB Camps, a voluntary organisation that provides holidays where children and young adults are given the opportunity to participate in new and challenging experiences. Their aim is to create inclusion for disadvantaged young people, with and without disabilities, from the Birmingham area.
The lead singer of the Joneses, Aidan Sheridan, originally from Birmingham, was a volunteer on PHAB camps in the past. Aidan is returning from London where he now lives with his Smiths tribute band, they hope to raise much needed funds to support future camps. “The PHAB Camps are a marvellous experience. Their professionalism, generosity, humour and dedication is admirable. Above all the thrilling and challenging activities deliver profound life changing experiences for both the participants and the volunteers. I wanted to support the organisation once again by bringing the enthusiasm of The Smiths fan base to a fund raising event.”
This will promises to be a tremendous night of music, dancing and singing, the Joneses are joined with the Chain of Fools band who will complement the Smiths music with their collection popular soul songs in the Motown/Stax vein.
The event will take place in the luxurious Warwickshire suite overlooking the Edgbastion Cricket Ground and will start at 7pm, with music played through to 11.30. Tickets to the event are £10.00 of which all proceeds will go the Birmingham PHAB Camps.
