Brummie comic aims to make it up as he goes along.
Birmingham comedian Sunny Dhap will be representing the city at the Improv Smackdown Tournament taking place during the Leicester Comedy Festival later this week.
Sunny is the founder and the director of Jumprov, The UK’s first ethnically diverse improvisational theatre company. He set up Jumprov to help improve representation in the arts for people of colour. Jumprov is made up of all-Birmingham actors.
Improvisation, or ‘improv’ as it’s better known, is the art of performing scenes on the spot that are unscripted, unrehearsed with zero preparation using suggestions from the audience. The tournament will see the best actors & performers from the UK going toe to toe to become the crowned champion of the competition.
Sunnysaid “I am truly honoured to be representing my group Jumprov and more importantly my city, Birmingham at the Improv Smack Down. So wish me luck Brum!!”
The Improv Smackdown is on Sunday 25th February 2018.
