Mr Silly Pancake flips to the moon!
Young audiences will be enchanted by the magical debut show of Knees & Toes Theatre as Mr Silly Pancake & the Land of Cake & Biscuits comes to Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 9th & 10th December 2017.
Mr Silly Pancake has a dream. He longs to be the first pancake on the moon. But to get there, he needs help from children with big ideas and big imaginations…
With original music, puppetry and a stunning set, this interactive show will transport young audiences to the Land of Cake and Biscuits, where everything is edible, yet mustn’t be eaten, where we meet Mr Silly Pancake, the Gingerbread man & a daredevil custard cream. Intimate audiences will navigate the tactile set, visiting Jelly Fields, Marshmallow Castle & Milkshake River, before helping Mr Silly Pancake overcome his problems and become the first pancake in space.
Written and performed by Toni Midlane and directed by Peter Wynne-Willson, Mr Silly Pancake is an engaging production full of music and movement, bubbles and play, which promises a magical first theatre experience for under 5’s. Toni Midlane, said: “After many years of running Toni’s Tots Drama workshops for pre-school children I was inspired by the brilliant ideas the children came up with and wanted to develop some of their imagined adventures into a full production.
“The development of the show has been an amazing process; working with a talented team of artists as well as numerous young collaborators at Ladywood Children’s Centres. I look forward to welcoming audiences into the Land of Cake & Biscuits. But remember: Don’t Eat Anything!”
Performances are at 11am, 1.30pm & 3.30pm on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th December 2017. Tickets cost Adults: £10, Children: £7, Babes in Arms £2 and are available from the box office on 0121 236 4455 or www.birmingham-rep.co.uk.
