Housing association recognised for employee relations.
A Midlands-based housing association has scooped a top prize for this year’s industry leading 2017 CIPD People Management Awards.
Midland Heart won the title of Best Reward Initiative for their employee reward strategy that recognises employee skills, behaviours and performances at an individual, team or organisational level.
The CIPD People Management Awards are considered to be the most prestigious in the industry, celebrating outstanding achievements of Human Resources and Learning and Development professionals across the UK. The award is a testament to the hard work of the Midland Heart team who developed a new reward strategy against a backdrop of changing government policy that saw a new approach to staff sickness, the implementation of a new online benefits platform and contributed towards an overall improvement of the business.
Judges said that the Midland Heart team demonstrated clear alignment between need and reward response, with a holistic approach that covered both financial and non-financial aspects, strong staff consultation and a clear action plan for future challenges.
Director of HR, Baljinder Kang said: “We are absolutely honoured to receive this prestigious award recognising the success in our total reward strategy. For the last three years, our focus on recognition and reward has enabled us to really improve employee satisfaction as well as contribute to significant improvements across the business. To be recognised as industry leaders is a huge achievement.”
This success follows in light of Baljinder’s recent achievement of being named as one of the UK’s most influential HR Practitioners in the not for profit category of HR Magazine’s annual Human Resources Most Influential list
Over 930 HR and L&D professionals attended the awards ceremony which took place at the iconic Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London and was hosted by comedian Rory Bremner. For a full list of all the winners and more information about the awards visit the CIPD website
