Advice to budding musicians available at music college.
Steve White has played the drums for some of the biggest names in the music business during a career spanning more than 30 years. In that time, he has drummed for Paul Weller, the Style Council, the Who, Ocean Colour Scene Jon Lord, Ian Dury, La Roux, and his current group, Family Silver.
Now Steve – who turned professional at the tender age of 17 – is using his talents to inspire a new generation of musicians as part of BIMM Birmingham and PMTs Play with The Pros series, which sees famed players offering advice and tuition.
The unique event will take place this Saturday June 10th from 12-5 pm at PMT Birmingham; Steve White will be hosting a series of thirty-minute one to one sessions with all those who have applied, along with a drumming masterclass, which is not to be missed.
The event is also a fantastic opportunity for all aspiring musicians to learn more about studying at BIMM Birmingham, and the wealth of opportunities available here.
Well be handing out prospectuses, and there will be staff on hand to discuss BIMMs close ties with the music industry and our roster of experienced tutors and musicians.
Our new state-of-the-art college is due to open its doors this October in Digbeth and applications are already open for all those who wish to study here.
The Play With The Pros event is completely free and open to anyone with an interest in music – not just drummers – so stop by and say hello at PMT (Professional Music Technology), 136 Lawley Middleway, Birmingham, B4 7XX.
BIMM Birmingham’s next Open Day will take place on Saturday 24th June 2017 at new venue Mama Rouxs. Details here
