Chance to take part in charity bike event.
Due to overwhelming demand, registration for the Bike4Life Ride Out and Festival, taking place on Sunday 30th April 2017, has now opened, and motorcyclists are being encouraged to sign up as places on the Ride Out are limited.
The event, which is organised by and raises funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in association with the Safer Roads Partnership, is established as one of the best ride out and festival motorbike experiences in the country. The Ride Out, which sees over 3,500 motorbikes, starts at Meole Brace in Shrewsbury travelling 23 miles to RAF Cosford airfield, home to the incredible Bike4Life Festival.
The Festival will include live music, breath-taking displays, exhibitions, stalls, refreshments and more. With over 6,000 additional people attending, it’s a great day out for bikers, families and the local community.
Jason Levy from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and chair of the Bike4Life organising committee, said: “We created Bike4Life with the Safer Roads Partnership to give our supportive motorbike fans a really fantastic day out, and to also raise awareness of biker safety as sadly we tend to and airlift motorcyclists from road traffic collisions regularly.
“Each year more and more people attend Bike4Life, and due to increasing demand, we launch registration for the Ride Out earlier every year. It’s fast become one of the biggest motorbike events to kick start the motorcycle season, so if you’re interested in getting involved, log onto www.bike4lifefest.com now to find out more.”
Vicki Bristow from the Safer Roads Partnership, added: “It’s great to support this worthwhile event and have the opportunity to speak to the huge number of bikers that attend. Biker safety is one of the main focuses of the day and there will be the opportunity to speak to various organisations to find out more about further training and additional courses that are out there. It’s a great day out, no matter what your area of biking so sign up and join us.”
To take part, visit www.bike4lifefest.com. Tickets for the Ride Out cost £10 per biker (pillions ride for free), which includes free entry to the Bike4Life Festival. Tickets for the Festival alone are just £5 per person and children under 16 go free.
Bike4Life is run in collaboration with Safer Roads Partnership and West Midlands Police who work tirelessly to promote road safety and to help reduce the number of road traffic collisions across West Mercia. The event is supported by the Central Motorway Police Group, Highways England, West Mercia Police Shropshire County Council, the RAF Museum Cosford and RAF Cosford.
