Community show to mark celebration.
The annual Diwali celebrations on Soho Road will take place on Sunday 16th October 2016 on one of Britain’s most diverse streets. The event is set to start at 12pm and end at 6.30pm with the Diwali lights switch on.
Soho Road BID hosts West Midlands largest Diwali festival which attracts thousands each year. The organisation consists of 560 independent businesses that spread from Holyhead Road all the way to Soho Hill and caters to approximately 250,000 residents in the vicinity.
There will be variety of food, offering the very best in street food and Indian cuisine as well as a funfair and a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Live performances from Punjabi artist Roshan Prince and local artist, Jaz Dhami, will be the highlight of the show.
BID Chairman, Dipak Patel, said “This year we hope to make the annual Soho Road Diwali show bigger and better than ever before. We have a fantastic line-up and are proud to welcome Roshan Prince to Birmingham as our headline act. The event gives everyone the opportunity to experience the lively energy the area has to offer. It is a wonderful event not just for the BID but the city of Birmingham”.
