Four win international honours.
This season’s Six Nations is at an end but for four Solihull schoolboys their international rugby careers could be just beginning.
The pupils are all star players for Solihull School, an independent co-educational school, founded in 1560, with a proud tradition of sporting excellence.
Charlie Morgan and William Cutbill both play for England Counties U18s, William Talbot-Davies for Wales U18s and Tom Serle plays in the U16s for Scotland.
Director of sport Steve Thompson said: “This is a tremendous achievement. To have four boys playing international rugby is a real feather in our cap and testament to the high quality of coaching staff and the hard work by the boys themselves.”
Solihull School has just hosted the biggest school rugby sevens tournament in the region, with almost 1,800 pupils from 30 schools taking part in the four-day festival of rugby, supported by volunteer match officials and referees from the North Midlands Referees Society.
The boys U12 rugby sevens team are top of the UK rankings after finishing the season undefeated. They won every school tournament they entered – Warwick, KES Birmingham, Nottingham and Bishop Vesey.
