Jaguar supercars make rare appearance at Cosford.
Over 120 Jaguar cars will be heading to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford later this month as part of an event organised by the Club members from across the UK and Europe will be in attendance on the day, exhibiting a wide range of cars including two rare Jaguar XJ220’s.
Three fully liveried Jaguar Police pursuit vehicles complete with blues and twos will be escorting the vehicles into the museum at around 10.30am on Saturday 16 April. Jaguar fans and visitors to the museum are invited to get up close to the collection of British designed cars, with models ranging from the X-Type, E-Type, XKR supercharged to the new F-Type sports. Guaranteed to be a highlight for visitors will be two Jaguar XJ220 supercars, capable of travelling at speeds in excess of 200mph; they are some of the fastest production cars ever built.
All cars are privately owned by Jaguar Drivers’ Club members who attend events around the country to share their passion for cars with other Jaguar owners, as well as enjoying everything that unique venue’s such as the museum has to offer.
The Jaguar Driver’s Club was formed in 1956 and organisers have chosen the RAF Museum Cosford to host their first meet of the year. The display of cars will be set against a backdrop of the landmark National Cold War Exhibition building where interested members of the public are encouraged to come and take a look.
Event Organiser Steve Bonnell from the Jaguar Drivers’ Club said: “The RAF Museum Cosford was a natural choice for the Jaguar Drivers’ Club as it offers a great family day out for our members and it’s centrally located in the UK. It’s a wonderful place that showcases and preserves Britain’s finest achievements and provides first class facilities for car clubs. Cosford visitors young and old are most welcome to join us and take a look at some of Jaguar’s finest cars.”
The museum is a popular venue for car groups and hosts numerous club events throughout the year, with space to accommodate up to 150 vehicles. For details of all the car groups visiting the museum during 2016 visit: www.rafmuseum.org/cosford.
