News of a post-New Years party.
This Friday sees Birmingham Jazz providing a chance to welcome in the new year with a special Caribbean evening at the Red Lion in the jewellery Quarter. There won’t just be music but the menu will also bring a flavour of the Caribbean.
Back by popular demand are the Birmingham band From Scratch, led from the front by Mark Hamilton and created by guitarist Ralf DeCambre, featuring Ray Brown on dass and drummer Wayne Scott.
Evolving from the late Andy Hamilton’s Blue Notes, From Scratch has its own voice playing an infectious mix of Jazz, Blues, Ska and Reggae based tunes so expect another evening of relaxed bluesy jazz paying tribute to the memory of the legendary Birmingham musician.
