Local groups will benefit.
Junior School pupils at Solihull School have raised over £6800 as part of its Charity Week – a record figure for the junior school’s annual fundraising event which is now in its 30th year.
As part of Charity Week, a total of 226 pupils aged 7-11 hosted a Solihull’s Got Talent contest; held a book sale, a movie afternoon and a pupils v teachers football match. Thanks to the range of activities, pupils presented a cheque for £6,860.70 to the Rotary Club of Solihull, St Alphege, which in turn has donated the money to Solihull Young Carers.
Michael Jones, Deputy Head of the Junior School, said: “This has been another fantastic year of fundraising and I am proud of the pupils for all the effort they put into raising such a substantial amount. To reach this record figure is a huge achievement and we are delighted to be able to support such an important, local charity in Solihull.”
