Tell Me About Your Ex 2

A new play from the Old Joint Stock Theatre, made up entirely of stories from you! For the past few months, the company been asking the Birmingham public to send us tales from their past relationships, and these will be presented through song, theatre and storytelling. What’s more, each night’s audience will be invited to fill in their own cards. These new stories will feed into the show during the production week, so it really will be a different show every night.

Two Degrees

A group of old friends and acquaintances reunite to recount a story of uncertainty, fear, getting lost – in a supermarket – and becoming truly lost in the reality of modern life. Written by Jonathan ap Emrys and performed by him and Neil Jackson, Two Degrees is an intimate and interactive experience for audience members which will surprise, engage and stir both the emotions and the imagination.
Two Degrees is created by Red Trouser, a Birmingham-based theatre company, which produces interactive and engaging new writing. Due to the intimate nature of the production, audience capacity for each performance is twelve.
Foghorn Improv: The Sherlock Tomes

This is the story of the days of pre-parenthood and everything that goes with it; an awkward night of conception, expensive gadgets, gizmos and buggies that you can never get to work properly, those all-important scan appointments where you can never find a car-parking space and that beautiful moment when your child is born. Whether you have children, are going to have children or are terrified of having children, Our Kylie’s Havin’ a Bab will make you laugh with empathy, solidarity or relief!
The Goon Show

Relive the lunacy of Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe as Seagoon, Eccles, Bluebottle, Major Bloodnok and Minnie become embroiled in the case of the heinous PHANTOM HEAD SHAVER (OF BRIGHTON), and tell a terrifying tale of family greed and murder in (pause for dramatic effect), THE CANAL!
A rare chance to see two classic Milligan radio scripts performed on stage, complete with live sound effects and jazz band. The Goon Show re-wrote the rules of British comedy during the 1950s, attracting radio audiences of nearly two million and paving the way for Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, Steve Coogan and The Mighty Boosh – and they can still be heard on BBC radio today, sixty years later!
Albert Einstein: Relativitively Speaking

Join Albert, the genius behind the übercoolest moustache in science, for a lecture like none you’ve ever attended. The eccentric theoretical physicist is accompanied by his two wives and mum on the piano, and by guest rapper MC Squared, as he quantum leaps us through two world wars, two theories of relativity, and the deployment of two very big bombs. Behind The Blinds

“Nice to meet you, do come in…” Richard and Isabelle are your hosts for the evening and, having got to know all about their other neighbours over many years, they will share the innermost secrets of the characters living on their street. Behind the Blinds is a new show weaving together lyrically witty and sophisticated songs that reveal what goes on behind the blinds on this ordinary-looking suburban street. Look closely to see that there is no such thing as ordinary! In the great tradition of comic and tragicomic songs, imagine a combustible mix of Victoria Wood, Tim Minchin, Gilbert and Sullivan and Ian Dury.
Sherlock Holmes: A Working Hypothesis

Three years after the Reichenbach Falls the great detective Sherlock Holmes is presumed dead. Dr John Watson has married and moved on, consigning his days ofadventure and investigation to memories. In an intimate room, a lecture is about to take place. A great professor of criminology prepares to educate his audience on the ʻscience of deductionʼ that Holmes made famous. Will this event be the catalyst to throw Holmes and Watson together again, as one final mystery lays dormant, waiting to be unraveled? Could it be true that their archenemy Moriarty is still at large?
This fast paced and participatory production places the audience at the heart of the action, with games to play and investigations to be solved. A contemporary, interactive original drama inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s much-loved detective stories. Created by The Flanagan Collective, associate company at York Theatre Royal, and Hartshorn Hook Production in partnership with Pegasus Theatre and York Theatre Royal.

A sequel to the original Bram Stoker classic, Dracula’s Ghost combines mixed media and live performance to create a lurid gothic melodrama.
Formed in 2010, Don’t Go Into The Cellar remains the British Empire’s finest practitioners of theatrical Victoriana in a macabre vein. The company perform at venues across the United Kingdom, from theatres and restaurants to manor houses and festivals, offering an original take on traditional Victorian and Edwardian theatre, combining authentic costumes and props with multi-media film, video and sound.
