The full line up for the second Lichfield Rocks Festival has been announced and sees a host of established acts joining the hottest local talent from throughout the Midlands.

X-Factor favourite Lucy Spraggan will headline the festival, which will take place on Saturday July 26th this year, alongside last year’s headliners, art rockers Stubblemelt, and Mitchell Emms, star of BBC’s The Voice show, who also goes by the stage name Mister Nothing.

Lucy Spraggan will be well known to many for being the only X-Factor contestant to achieve a top 40 single and album before the live shows aired. Stubblemelt are also gaining respect from the national music scene and will perform at the day-long festival off the back of the release of their acclaimed debut album Gypaetus Barabatus, which was released during two sold-out concerts in Birmingham.

The event will be held at the popular Lichfield Brewery, The Bowling Green, and will be an all-day event full of family entertainment and live music, with Lucy Spraggan closing the festival from 7.45 pm.

Some of the finest local talent has also been booked for the event with Walsall–based indie pop punkers Two ‘N’ Eights confirmed, as well as Stourbridge indie rockers Of Kings and Captains, local folk rockers Brothers of Caedmon and fast-rising spunk rockers Friday Club. Mr George’s Famous Last Words, the 95th, Danni G and Andrew Cache have also been confirmed to perform.

And that’s not all, for the festival will be taken indoors following Lucy Spraggan’s headline set where The Retrospectives, ex-Manfred Mann’s Earth Band guitarist Chris Thompson, and Mike Gormley will lead an after-party.

Last year’s Lichfield Rocks Festival helped raise nearly £3,000 for St Giles Hospice in Whittington. This year the festival will be sponsored by Lichfield Health Club and will raise money for the Mercian Regiment Benevolent Charity, which provides relief to past and present members of the regiment and their dependants when in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

Organiser Kyle Perry, who derived the idea of Lichfield Rocks last year, is delighted with the festival line up and says Lichfield Rocks is in a unique position to showcase some of the best Midlands musical talent alongside some well known, nationally recognised artists. “What is truly unique about Lichfield Rocks is that it not only brings established musical talent to the Midlands but it also gives some of the best homegrown artists a platform on which to showcase their talent too,” he said.

“Last year’s festival was really well attended and helped us raise a lot of money for a worthy cause. This year’s event is even bigger so fans ought to buy their tickets soon to avoid missing out.”
