A Mos eley-based band is to play the famous Yardbird Club in Birmingham City centre tomorrow (Tues) night.
Deaf Inspector has only been together for three months. The band are all 19 and received the nod to take the stage where so many city groups have started over the decades after the club heard their stuff on Open Mic Nights.
Monte Williams, on vocals and lead, said:’We got the slot on before Tuesday night’s Open Mic session and are on at about 8.’
The two other band members are Ruben Das on keyboards and Ben Phillips on drums. All three are in their gap year before University next autumn. Their inspirations have been The Flaming Lips and Sharks Keep Moving, they say.
Williams goes to a pair of solo gigs later in the week – on Friday he is on just after 7pm at the Rainbow in Digbeth and Saturday “it looks likely” that he’s performing at The Sunflower ion the Middleway.
