A children’s charity is calling on cyclists in the Midlands to join them on a mass bike ride to raise money for disabled children.
Midlands-based Caudwell Children has teamed up with cycling sportive providers ‘Kilo to Go’ and leading online retailer, Wiggle, to organise the bike ride that promises to be a scenic challenge for cyclists.
Funds raised from the event will help provide practical and emotional support for disabled children and their families.
Simon Thomson, Director at Kilo to Go, said: “The Wiggle Motion in Mercia is a key date on the cycling calendar and a truly unique ride. The route takes in some of England’s most breathtaking scenery including Cannock Chase, the Severn Valley and Iron Bridge.
Riding for Caudwell Children is a fantastic way to raise money for families with disabled children. Riders in the past have been able to galvanise the support of their community and push themselves through the ride knowing their efforts are helping change lives.”
The Wiggle MotioninMercia offers a choice of a 92, or 62 mile ride through the scenic Mercian territories that were once the jewel of an Anglo Saxon Kingdom.
Cyclists will be supported along the way by Kilo To Go’s renowned support and Caudwell Children’s challenge team will also be on hand to help with fund raising and training before the March ride.
Kate Duddell, Challenge Manager for Caudwell Children, said: “Taking part in the Kilo to Go sportive is a must for any cyclist wanting to push themselves and raise money for disabled children.
The Wiggle Motion in Mercia is a fantastic course that promises riders breathtaking views of the English countryside.
Caudwell Children will be on hand to support you with fundraising and training and we will be there on the day to cheer you along as you take on this unique ride.”
The Wiggle Motion in Mercia takes place on Sunday 30th March. The sportive starts and finishes at Aldersley Leisure Village, Aldersley Road, Wolverhampton.
