New productions at Artix

Shakespeare and more comes to Bromsgrove.

Jealousy, intrigue and murder will be back on screen at Artrix on Sunday 13th October at 7pm after previous sell-out performances of the National Theatre Live’s production of Othello.

It’s a chance to see award-winning actor Rory Kinnear playing the devilish Iago and Adrian Lester taking the title role. This is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays and this brand new production has had outstanding reviews from audiences and critics alike.Othello, a handsome military man, is very much in love with his new wife until his friend Iago persuades him that she is having an affair with the handsome Cassio. What follows is one of the most powerful stories of suspicion and rage ever to be played on stage.

Tickets £12.

Peacock and Gamble bring their new critically acclaimed, wonderfully silly, comedy show to the theatre on Mon 14th October at 8pm. After inexplicably failing to get famous in the UK, the triple Chortle Award nominees (2011, 2012, 2013) have even more inexplicably become famous in Japan. In this show they explore their new-found fame, while shouting their way through another knockabout hour of electrifying stupidity.

Bringing the classical double act charm, but with an energetic modern twist, this couple’s comedy antics will have you rolling around in your seats.

Tickets £10.

Critically acclaimed and well-loved Reform Theatre bring their new show Stand on Saturday 12th October at 8pm. In this tragic, comedic play, Phil and Kev begin to question their continual attendance at tedious United games as Vicky and Laura put themselves through a similar process of self-doubt, while undressing the men down the local with their words and looks. When the four come together for a Saturday night out they realise that they are all at a pivotal moment in their lives.

Winner of The Sunday Times Playwriting Award, David Brown’s tragi–comedy of manners (or lack of) is an unmissable theatrical experience.

Tickets £12 (£10).
