Coventry University is hosting an event on the future of the country’s road transport network at its city centre campus on Thursday 10th October 2013.
Parliament Talks Road Transport is a session being held jointly with the House of Commons Transport Committee to look at the country’s road system and will include discussions on how the system is coping with increasing pressure, the changes that are needed to the present infrastructure and whether or not technology can make better use of the current situation.
This free event is open to the public and audience members will be able to put their questions across to a select panel of industry experts and academics. Louise Ellman MP, Chair of the House of Commons Transport Committee, will be chairing the event which is part of a series of road transport talks taking place across the country ahead of the forthcoming green paper on the Future Road Strategy.
Sophie Beer, Project Officer at Coventry University, said: “Coventry and the West Midlands lie at the crossroads of the country’s transport network so it is vital that our community inputs into any debate on imminent plans for our road system. I would urge members of the public and the business sector to come along to this session to put forward their views on the future shape of our road network.”
Parliament Talks Road Transport takes place from 1.30pm to 7pm on Thursday 10 October 2013 at Coventry University Technology Park, The TechnoCentre, Puma Way, Coventry CV1 2TW.
