Time running out to enter Miss Birmingham comp

The final countdown is on for contestants to enter this year’s Miss Birmingham competition.

Entries close tomorrow,  March 29, with eligible ladies from across the city being encouraged to put themselves forward for the chance to represent Birmingham for the next year.

The first round of auditions have already been held but organisers say there are still some spots left for girls with the right blend of personality, intelligence and compassion needed to wear the crown of Miss Birmingham 2013.

After Friday’s deadline, judges will choose the contestants who have qualified to take to the catwalk at the Miss Birmingham final, taking place on May 5 at The Crescent Theatre.

The winner will follow in the footsteps of current Miss Birmingham, Kris’ina Jagpal, serving as an ambassador for the West Midlands for the next year, as well as going on to qualify for the Miss England final.

Chief Scout Kerry Capoverde said there had already been a great response to this year’s competition.

“There have been some fantastic entries already and we are already confident that this year’s Miss Birmingham final will be one of the best yet,” she said.

“But we know there are still lots more ladies out there across Birmingham with the right characteristics that we’re looking for, so we want to give as many potential candidates as possible the chance to get their entries in before the deadline.”

The winner of Miss Birmingham 2013 will win a host of prizes including a photoshoot with a professional fashion photographer and will also qualify for the final of Miss England 2013, where she will get a chance to win a place at the prestigious Miss World competition.

Contestants must be aged between 17 and 24-years-old and have until Friday, March 29, to enter the competition at www.missbirmingham.co.uk.
