Halloween horror movie marathon returns to The Public.
Horror aficionados from across the nation are invited to The Public this Halloween to take part in the ultimate horror movie endurance test!
After the success of the Halloween all-nighter in 2011, the horror movie marathon is set to return to West Bromwich venue for a second year on Saturday 27 October. Sleep deprived guests will be treated to 12 hours of ghoulish entertainment throughout the night, with feature films encompassing cult classic, Demons, Italian horror, The Beyond, a film festival favourite, Grave Encounters, and, most terrifying of all, Deadtime, a locally produced slasher movie set in Wednesbury! A final film chosen by the audience completes the bill in a night which promises to be ‘A Fright to Remember!’
The evening’s programme will also include a terrifying short film showcase, including a creepy animated twist on nursery rhymes, Nursery Crimes, tales of a supernatural employment agency, Employee of the Month, and new film Bobby Yeah, nominated for the Best Animated Short BAFTA Award 2012. A late night live set from Brighton’s dark cabaret act, Birdeatsbaby, will act as a suitably dramatic centre piece to the evening’s entertainment.
In advance of the night, audience members will be able to cast their vote as to which frightening film they’d like to be screened at the end of the evening. A choice of; The Cube, Zombieland, Scream, From Dusk till Dawn and Nightmare on Elm Street can be selected on The Public’s Facebook site (www.facebook.com/thepublicwestbromwich).
Linda Saunders, Managing Director of The Public said: “The Public is committed to providing our visitors with unique and memorable experiences. Last year’s Horror Movie Marathon was incredibly well received with many of the audience braving it until the early hours of the morning! This year’s event promises to be equally as successful with a mix of horror classics and festival favourites.”
