Following the announcement that Coventry has been awarded the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) Coach Friendly City Award, three prestigious Coventry attractions have joined together for the first time to promote the city to the group travel trade.
Coventry Cathedral, Coventry Transport Museum and the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry have hosted a joint stand at the Best of Britain & Ireland (BoBI) trade event at the NEC this month, under the banner ‘Inspirational Coventry’.
At the event, which was held on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 March, the three venues have been showing off the best of what Coventry has to offer group visitors. From Coventry’s two side-by-side Cathedrals, to world class theatrical productions and the fastest car on Earth, there’s something to delight and inspire every type of visitor.
Stephanie Brown, from Coventry Transport Museum, commented: “This was the first time that a selection of Coventry attractions have joined together to attend an exhibition and collectively show off this diverse city’s hidden gems.
“Coventry is a vibrant, exciting and inspirational city and the Best of Britain & Ireland exhibition was the perfect place for us to help promote the huge range of unique opportunities that Coventry offers the group travel trade.”
Further to receiving the Coach Friendly City Award, Coventry is investing in a long-stay coach park at White Street with space for 24 coaches, and will also provide drop-off car parking provision along with taxi ranking space.
Best of Britain & Ireland (BoBI) is an industry showcase for exhibitors, trade visitors and VIP Hosted Buyers from overseas and the domestic market. BoBI sells the best of Britain and Ireland to British and international markets in a strictly trade-only business environment.
