Technical partnership to benefit gay organisations

Pride-inspired charging cable created with funds going towards LGBT Foundation.

DP Building Systems and LGBT Foundation have partnered to create a pride-inspired USB cable, with £1 of every unit sold going to the LGBT Foundation.

The cable specialist company, based in Birmingham, has created the usable and fun cables to proudly support LGBT Foundation, a national charity delivering advice, support and information services to LGBT communities.

The inspiration behind the cables follows tragically loosing a friend to suicide after they struggled for years with issues related to their sexual orientation and fears that they would “bring shame” and be rejected by their family.

The cable which is priced at £9.99 is faster than standard USB charging cables and features the pride colours as a nod to LGBT foundation.

The rainbow Equality Wins multi-connector cable features USB to Mini USB, Micro-USB, 8 pin, and USB-C charging, suitable for charging all devices such as smartphones to cameras, video games consoles, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, MP3 players, e-readers and more – faster than the standard USB charging cables.

The universal multi-USB cable is perfect for keeping at home or taking on the go, to work, school, travelling or out-and-about, for when devices are running low on battery.

Rob White of DP Building Systems said: “LGBT people experience disproportionately poor mental health in comparison to the general population and are at much greater risk of experiencing suicidal thoughts or attempting suicide.

“Sadly, there are many LGBT people who feel that there is nowhere to turn to for support and that their only option is to end their own life.

“By partnering with LGBT Foundation, we hope we can contribute to changing this, with the USB cable being designed for the purpose of supporting the LGBT community through awareness and through needed funds to charities such as, LGBT Foundation.”
