Blues draw 3-3 at home to Hull City. Andy Munro watches.

Blues started the game in a lacklustre style par excellence and deserved to be two goals down against the hungry Tigers. In fairness to Hull, they put some quality balls into the box, showing up Lee Camp’s lack of dominance in the six yard box apart from the occasional flapping motion.

In a fairly dismal first half, Blues’ defence lost too many headers at the back and were chased down too easily by the hard running and eager Hull forwards. It didn’t help that the midfield cover in the shape of Kleftenbeld and Gardner looked off the pace with wayward distribution and a yard too slow into the tackle.

I think Pep has done a decent job but it defies logic to play no natural wingers when they’re playing two penalty box players up front. This meant that the Juke and Scott Hogan were merely spectators for the first 45 minutes, although they shoulder part of the blame when comparing their hunger to that of the opposition forwards.

Luckily, the peseta dropped with Pep. He brought on Jude Bellingham, and what a difference that made. After Gary Gardner had redeemed his first half display with a worldy to cut the arrears, Bela created havoc for Dan Crowley to head home. It looked then like there was only going to be one result but Hull took the lead from a poorly conceded free kick when we lost possession.

Yet again Bela was the saviour with a jink and a cross for Gardner to head home an equaliser. A decent point from being two goals down but it could have been so much more.
