Community group aims to help combat isolation.
A new initiative launched by Witton Lodge Community Association will provide much needed support to people who are isolated and vulnerable as a result of the current COVID-19 lockdown.
Weekly support sessions, delivered online, aim to encourage social interaction and connection between people in an effort to boost their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Debbie Bates and Fauzia Begum, will be hosting the sessions which will be hosted through video communication tool Zoom.
“If you are feeling isolated, anxious and distressed due to the current crisis of COVID19, you can join our online support group,” said Fauzia.
“These support group sessions will be an opportunity for people to share their experiences, feelings and coping strategies along with information that may be useful in helping others deal with the current situation.

The first Witton Lodge’ Wellbeing team Zoom support group session will offer support to anyone who may be experiencing any adverse effects of social distancing.
It will take place next Tuesday, April 21st at 3pm. To take part, all people have to do is click on the link then on the Join Meeting button.
