Cadbury World raises egg-stravagant donation for Make-A-Wish

Children’s charity to benefit from giant egg.

Cadbury World has fundraising cracked after raising just under £3,000 for Berkshire-based charity, Make-A-Wish, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

In addition to on-site donations from visitors at the popular Bournville-based attraction throughout the year, funds were raised by raffling off a spectacular giant chocolate egg for over £1,000.

Created by Cadbury World’s talented in-house chocolatiers, the egg stood at an impressive 2.5ft tall and weighed in at 38kg – the equivalent of 844 standard bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk – and was adorned with an array of hand-piped chocolate flowers and a girl making a wish on a dandelion.

Diane Mitchell, Marketing Manager at Cadbury World, commented: “Here at Cadbury World, we are proud to support a number of charities and the combination of the skills of our masterful chocolatiers with everyone’s love for chocolate is our unique way of giving something back.

“Their creations certainly attract a lot of attention in our Chocolate Making zone and it’s fantastic that the egg has played its part in raising money for such a wonderful cause.”

Nikki Wrench, Regional Fundraising Manager at Make-A-Wish, added: “We believe that a child’s life should be about wonder, joy and hope, which is why we go above and beyond to grant wishes for these amazing children.

“This simply would not be possible without local businesses like Cadbury World who tirelessly fundraise for us year after year, and we would like to thank all of the staff and their customers at the attraction for their support.”
