Celebrate Christmas with (The) Glee

Expanded Christmas menu and top-notch comedy line-ups at city centre venue.

‘Tis definitely the season to be jolly at The Glee this December as the famed Birmingham comedy club celebrates Christmas in style, with the best comedians, great atmosphere, and excellent food.

Perfect for work parties and seasonal treats, a special optional three-course meal has been especially designed to cater for a variety of tastes, and kicks off with a Sharing Starter featuring rosemary focaccia bread with aioli, balsamic vinegar and olive oil dips.

The main course boasts eight mouth-watering choices. For those looking for a traditional festive meal, look no further than the Individual Turkey Roulade: a tender turkey escalope layered with fresh cranberry and citrus sausage stuffing and wrapped in bacon.

Or if you prefer to save your Christmas dinner for the big day, why not opt for Roast Cod Lion wrapped in smoked salmon, served with light crème lemon sauce; Slow Cooked Beef Brisket, with smoky bourbon and apricot glaze, fresh thyme, star anise and black pepper; Hog Roast Burger – roast port with warm spiced apple and cranberry slaw, sausage stuffing, and topped with a pig-in-blanket; or Turkey Schnitzel Burger with smoked cheese fondue.

There’s also a selection of great veg options: Veggie Schnitzel Burger with smoked cheese fondue, slaw, roast tomato, and skin-on fries, plus Grilled Mushroom and Halloumi or Grilled Mushroom and Tofu burgers (both gluten-free, with the tofu suitable for vegans).

And if you’re still peckish after that seasonal chow-down, head to the festive Dessert Grotto where you’ll find an enticing selection of cheesecakes, tarts, gateaux, profiteroles and fresh fruit salad. Drinks can also be pre-ordered too.

Meanwhile, on stage, enjoy a cavalcade of outstanding comic talent who’ll ensure you’re well entertained, including acclaimed Canadian Dana Alexander, Upstart Crows’ Spencer Jones and Rob Rouse (pictured), Funny Women Award winner Jayde Adams, and rising star Tom Lucy.

But the fun doesn’t stop once the show’s over as The Glee’s resident DJ will keep the party atmosphere going well into the wee small hours. Prices for The Glee’s Christmas celebrations begin at just £16 (comedy only)/£28 (comedy and food), with parties running from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 22nd December .

The West Midlands’ longest-running comedy venue, The Glee can be found at The Arcadian Centre, Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 4TD. For more information, including how to book, call 0871 472 0400 or see: www.glee.co.uk/christmas
