Birmingham gets the Skin HQ treatment

City opening for beauty industry clinic.

Leading aesthetic clinic, Skin HQ, has announced its ambitious expansion plans with the opening of two new sites in Birmingham and Bradford. The first step in a UK-wide programme, these new clinics see the business take on 2,100 sq ft of space, employing 40 people across the two cities.

Having been located on Manchester’s prestigious St John Street since 2017, Skin HQ now has its sights set on expanding the brand across the UK – and further afield – in the next few years. The first stage is the opening of a brand-new clinic in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, which has opened this week.

The 1,100 sq ft unit is based in Caroline Point, which sits at the heart of major redevelopment in the area and sees Skin HQ based just a stone’s throw from Birmingham’s central shopping area. Historically known as the home of some of the world’s most prestigious jewellery makers, the Jewellery Quarter is described by English Heritage as a ‘national treasure’ and is now home to leading urban residential and commercial property developments.

Also adding to the Skin HQ portfolio next month is the brand’s third clinic, based on Ivegate, one of Bradford’s original shopping streets. The 1,000 sq ft unit combines ground floor retail space with additional consultation and treatment rooms on the upper floors. The clinic will provide five full and five part-time roles when it announces its opening.

Speaking about the expansion, Leah Diveney at Skin HQ said: “After a year’s success in Manchester, we felt now was the time to activate our ambitions plans for global domination. Birmingham and Bradford are just the start of this – albeit extremely important to our overall plans for expansion.

“We know that we’re offering something really different in the beauty industry; not just the best products and treatments, but a real focus on providing the best service. Our now 40 strong team across the three sites is trained on the latest and most effective treatments, being constantly results-driven and always getting the best for our clients.”

Skin HQ specialises in laser hair treatment and advanced skincare, with treatments like Hydrafacials helping to establish the clinic’s place in the market. Lauded by the likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears and Kate Winslet, the Hydrafacial has fast-become the beauty industry’s go-to non-surgical treatment.

Men and women looking for a firmer face, fewer fine lines and a cleansed complexion can now give their skin the Hollywood treatment with what is being called the “evolution of microdermabrasion”. In addition to the Hydrafacial, Skin HQ also offers microdermabrasion, microneedling and facial peels, as well as laser hair removal and lip fillers.
