Coming to Artrix

A heavyweight historian and a lot more are at Bromsgrove’s arts centre soon.

With intrigue, concealed deaths and lethal factions, the story of the Tudors is never less than dramatic. David Starkey is well-qualified to give a lecture on the period, having written several books on the topic. His most recent book Henry: Model of a Tyrant has received excellent reviews.

A Cambridge educated grammar school boy who became a respected LSE lecturer, and the creator and presenter of many very popular historical TV series, Dr Starkey is known for his forthright views. You can hear the UK’s leading constitutional historian talk about the period he calls “the most glorious soap opera” at Artrix on Saturday 15th October.

David Starkey presents The King is Dead at Artrix on Saturday 15th October at 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £17.00 (£15.00 over 60s and students)

Fresh from a sell-out run at Edinburgh, Rory Bremner’s new mission is to make sense (and nonsense) of a world where Boris Johnson is Foreign Secretary, Donald Trump is a Presidential Candidate, and Brexit means Brexit. Good luck with that. If anyone can do it though, it’s Rory, with his unique mix of impressions, satire and 25 years’ experience of turning the pig’s ear of politics into the pig’s other ear of comedy.

Rory Bremner presents Partly Political: Work in Progress at Artrix on Thursday 10th November at 8.00 pm. Tickets (maximum of 4 per customer) cost £12.00

Timothy Pope is looking through his telescope. Is that a shark he can see? Shark in the Park is a fin-tastic family musical based on Nick Sharrat’s popular books. Join Timothy and his family for three exciting adventures on Tuesday 25th October. Suitable for ages 2-7 years old.
