Let’s put the show on here

Drama company with a difference to hold taste session for next show.

Following a sell-out run of their recent production of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, a Lichfield-based theatre company is looking to recruit new members to star in an extended musical version of the show.

Goodrow Productions will be performing The Pied Piper of Hamelin: The Musical in January 2017, and the company is inviting anyone interested in being involved to come along to an introductory session at the Lichfield Garrick next month to find out more.

“The aim of the company is to tell interesting stories in a fascinating way using original scripts and music, which is what we’ve worked really hard to deliver with The Pied Piper. And we interweave physical theatre, dance and folk song to add to the magic of the storytelling,” said co-founder of the company and Musical Director Alan Rowe.

“As well as writing all our own material, what makes us unique is the dynamic of our growing company,” added Alan. “We encourage adults and children with an interest in drama, often from the same family, to work together to create exciting theatre. Our productions are a great way for children, parents and even grandparents to spend time together doing something they love, be it acting or helping behind the scenes.

“Our last production included six family pairings and the dynamics make rehearsals incredibly supportive and friendly. And there’s a real communal pride and sense of achievement come performance night.

“Feedback for our scaled back April production of The Pied Piper ranged from people being so surprised at how utterly fantastic it was,’ to asking if there were any extra shows because they wanted to see it again,” said Alan. “We hope our January musical will be just as thrilling, and we’re really excited about welcoming new members on board.”

Goodrow Productions will be talking more about the production and giving a taster of some of the songs at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre’s Community Stage on Sunday 5th June at 4pm.

Anyone interested in being involved but not able to attend should contact Alan Rowe through the production company’s website at www.goodrowproductions.co.uk.
