The Beat go on

Win tickets for the return of the local heroes.

Legendary Birmingham ska band will be breaking new ground with a gig at the Rainbow Warehouse in Digbeth on 23rd April. One of the biggest bands of the 2-Tone movement, The Beat present a wall of sound that transcends time and ska fusion rhythms to ignite a crowd. The 2016 line-up features Ranking Roger and Ranking Junior on vocals with Oscar Harrison on drums, Andy Pearson and Steve Harper on guitars.

Although they have played many times in the area since theior 1979 arrival in the charts, selling out such venues as Birmingham Town Hall and the Academy, this will be the first time the band have played at the Rainbow.

Tickets are £20, but we have a pair available to win. If you’d like them, mail birminghampress@gmail.com with the answer to this question: What was the name of the Beat’s first top ten single? Have entries to us by 1st April.

Otherwise, tickets are available from the box office on 0121 771 1521 25739 or by visiitng www.therainbowvenues.co.uk/events/the-beat/
