Forthcoming at Artrix

There’s attractions for all ages coming up at Artrix, Bromsgrove.

Little people aged 4+ have a special invitation from Old MacDonald to join him on 23rd February to help him solve a problem. His animals have gone missing and he needs help finding them!

Old MacDonald had a Farm brings to life all the best-loved characters along with a magical medley of games, giggles and sing-along songs including Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes and of course Old MacDonald had a Farm.

People’s Theatre presents Old MacDonald had a Farm on Sunday 23rd February at 2 pm. Tickets cost £9.50 (£8.50 under 16s) and family tickets cost £32 (2+2 or 1 +3).

Richard Digance is a rare performer in that he’s respected by comedians for his original material and by musicians for being an accomplished performer/guitarist. His comedy and musical talent has been acknowledged through numerous awards within both the music and entertainment industries, from a BAFTA Nomination as a TV entertainer to a Gold Award from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.

Described by Radio 2’s Bob Harris as ‘a national treasure’, Richard has hosted his own ITV show during which he has played acoustic guitar alongside many well-known artists including Queen’s Brian May, the Moody Blues and Chris de Burgh. Richard is a familiar face at summer festivals, particularly Edinburgh, where he regularly has sell-out shows.

Richard Digance performs on Thursday 27th February at 8pm. Tickets cost £16.50.

Blues musicians have the chance to play with some of the greatest names in the business in late February. The tutors for the Acoustic Blues Weekend at Artrix include harmonica specialist Keith Dunn, Michael Messer, who is widely regarded as one of the top bottleneck slide guitarists in the UK and Michael Roach, a well-known country blues guitarists.

Participants can join the classes for the whole weekend or take part in the individual workshops on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday 1st March at 8 pm there will be a public concert by the tutors. This is a rare opportunity to play with or watch some of the three leading artists on the blues and roots music scene. 

The Euroblue Promotion Acoustic Blues Weekend is at Artrix from Friday 28th February to Sunday 2nd March. The Acoustic Blues House Party is on Saturday 1st March. Tickets for participation in the weekend cost £145 (£140), Saturday £80 (£75) or Sunday £60 (£55).

The Acoustic Blues House Party is at 8 pm on Saturday 1st March and tickets costs £10 (£8).
