Come heavy sleep

Passion-filled murder planned at Rep for December.

Kindle Theatre, one of the most pioneering theatre companies in the UK, present their new show Come Heavy Sleep at Birmingham Repertory Theatre for two work-in-progress performances on 13th and 14th December 2013 at 7.45pm.

Come Heavy Sleep is a passion-fuelled murder story told through song that takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s Othello. Following on from Kindle’s international success, The Furies, Come Heavy Sleep will be a large-scale ensemble spectacle, fronted by the band The Come Heavies, with bold choreography, chopped-up narrative and stunning visuals. The music moves from 16th Century Lute to Noise Pop into Industrial Grindcore and 1950′s-style romantic ballad.

Kindle are working with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and a brilliant ensemble of musicians, dancers, performers and a digital artist to develop this show, which will go on tour in Autumn 2014. But before that, these two work-in-progress performances take place at The REP’s new STUDIO theatre offering audiences a first glimpse of Kindle’s latest show.

Come Heavy Sleep is devised by Kindle Theatre and performed by Emily Ayres, Sam Fox, Olivia Winteringham, Graeme Rose, Becca Thomas, Suzanne Grubham, Luke-Matthew Iveson and Sam Wooster, with percussion design by Joelle Barker.

Kindle Theatre is run by Artistic Directors Emily Ayres, Samantha Fox and Olivia Winteringham, supported by Producer Jo Salkilld, and is based in Birmingham. The company is best known for its internationally acclaimed production The Furies and projects range from large scale theatrical banquet to sweaty rock gigs and often include audience engagement and live music.
