This week at the Robin

There’s definitely some unusual events taking placeat The Robin.

On Tuesday there’s a new show in town, courtesy of the Pretty Things Peepshow. No connection with the sixties r’n’b band, this is a vaudeville extravaganza featuring sword swallowing, juggling, glass walking, whip cracking, comedy, magic and classic burlesque.

One of the formative legends of British rock music will be at the Robin on Thursday, in the form of Andy Fraser, with his band. Best known for his time as bass player with the definitive blues rockers Free, Andy has also written songs that have been recorded by Rod Stewart, Chaka Khan, Robert Palmer and many more. He will also be joined by guests including Chris Spedding, possibly the best-known British studio guitarist of all.

On Friday there’s tribute act Fred Zeppelin.

Genesis tribute G2 appear on Saturday.

Sunday sees pro wrestling at the Robin, with a bill including European champion Red Eagle from Portugal and the British heavyweight champion Matt Mentzer.
