Shappi Khorsandi: Live – UK tour 2013

Shappi Khorsandi is one of the hottest comedy prospects in the country. She is back with a brand new show for 2013: Live, and will be appearing at Glee Club Birmingham on Thursday 3rd October, Glee Club Nottingham on Wednesday 6th November and Glee Club Oxford on Thursday 28th November.

Shappi Khorsandi

Shappi Khorsandi

The daughter of an exiled writer and comic from Iran, Shappi Khorsandi’s upbringing has been in no way conventional. From mental illness to opium dens, it’s all gone on in the Khorsandi household and she recounts it all in her work the only way she knows how, with wit, warmth and hilarity.

Shappi Khorsandi made her eponymous solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2003, next returning in 2006 with her show Asylum Speaker, which was an Edinburgh sell-out, followed by an extended run at The Soho Theatre.

In 2007, Shappi won Best Breakthrough Act at the Chortle Awards. That same year, she took her show Carry on Shappi to the Fringe and the Soho Theatre. She has since taken 4 more shows; The Distracted Activist, The Moon On A Stick, Me and My Brother, In Our Pants, Holding Hands and Dirty Looks and Hopscotch to Edinburgh and on national tours, as well as performing on stages around the world.
