Creative Network for young entrepreneurs

The Public in West Bromwich have teamed up with SWEDA, an organisation which champions youth enterprise, to develop a Creative Network for young people.

The network will provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to learn new skills, showcase their work and meet likeminded ambitious individuals.

After being awarded a £40,585 grant from The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) as part of RBS Inspiring Enterprise, SWEDA, recently launched an exciting new project for young people called ‘Create’.  ‘Create’ is designed to inspire and support young entrepreneurs by harnessing their creative talent to develop their potential within an enterprise culture.  The project will provide advice, guidance, mentoring and training to young entrepreneurs wishing to explore a Business or Social Enterprise idea as an alternative to traditional employment.

On Wednesday 18 September the two Sandwell based organisations will be holding a special Creative Network event in West Bromwich, providing a platform for both ‘Create’ members and young passionate creatives to come forward to showcase their work and share knowledge.  The event will also feature talks from a number industry professionals.

If you are a young creative looking to broaden your horizons and showcase your work to others, contact Tony Andrews from SWEDA on 0121 525 2558.

Linda Saunders, Managing Director of The Public said: “The Creative Network will provide an excellent opportunity to enhance the development of young creative individuals from the region.  By bringing business and creativity together the Network will act as a valuable resource for those looking to learn new skills and gain advice, and a stepping stone for those looking to explore new business ventures.”

Tony Andrews, Business Development Manger of SWEDA added: “We are fortunate to have a wealth of creative young people in the local area. Some of the young people we are already working with are now undertaking freelance commissions and are developing their entrepreneurial skills further.  Their enthusiasm and talent is a true inspiration, and this showcase and network is the opportunity for them to flourish.

We’re delighted to be working with The Public on this event – an inspiring venue full of creativity.”
