Langley Brass Band to perform at The Public

Langley Brass Band, one of the oldest brass bands in the Midlands, will be performing at The Public in West Bromwich on Saturday 6 July in a special concert, Summer Brass.

 

The band, who formed in 1878, comprise of 30 players from all walks of life ranging in age from 16 to 67.  They have toured the country extensively over the years, as well as overseas in Frankfurt, Germany and in Noordervijk, Belgium.  Along the way they’ve won many prestigious competitions, and have also featured in popular British film, Brassed Off.

During the concert the band will be playing a wide variety of music including rock, pop and film scores, mixing with classical and brass band favourites.

Proceeds from Langley Brass Band’s first concert at The Public will be used to help the band rebuild their dilapidated band room and buy new music and instruments.
