Operations Manager, David Ellgood, and Colleague Development Assistant, Paula Broadhurst hold up their Local, Loved, Trusted hearts at Midlands Co-operative store on Swanshurst Lane.

The store was fitted with eco-friendly refrigeration cabinets and low-level lighting to give the store a brighter, fresher look. Hundreds of new products were also added to the range to give customers a wider choice of food and drink.

David Ellgood, Operations Manager, said: “Customers and colleagues have welcomed the changes to the store and we’ve received some really positive feedback, it is now a more modern and convenient place to shop.

“It was great to celebrate the refit to coincide with Co-operatives Fortnight as well as Wimbledon as customers enjoyed our food tastings of fresh strawberry.”

The celebration also marked the beginning of Co-operatives Fortnight 2013 which runs from now until 6th July and brings together co-operatives from all over the UK. The ‘Local, Loved, Trusted’ theme running throughout the campaign invites local people to join in with Co-operatives Fortnight. Midlands Co-operative has asked store managers across its trading area to nominate their most loved, local and trusted customers.
