The Headmaster of Solihull School, David Lloyd welcomed special guests including The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ken Hawkins and Mayoress Janet Hawkins to The David Turnbull Music School for a drinks reception ahead of a sell-out performance of the School’s latest production.

The Phantom of the Opera musical, which pupils performed in the Bushell Hall over five nights, received a standing ovation from the 600 strong audience – with the mayor later tweeting ‘Back from @solsch1560 production of Phantom of the Opera.  Stunning, absolutely stunning.’

Lloyd said: “This is the biggest and most ambitious show that Solihull School has ever produced, stretching acting, singing and design skills to the limit.  We are delighted that the hard work of pupils and staff, both backstage and front of house, resulted in such a tremendous show.”
