“It’s interesting, though not surprising, that men are lying about their careers,” says Brandon Wade, Founder & CEO of WhatsYourPrice.com. “In this economy, it is very likely that a man is unsatisfied with his career, and might embellish his online dating profile as he would a résumé to make himself more appealing.”

WhatsYourPrice.com is the only online dating auction site where generous men bid for the chance at a first date with an attractive member. Attractive members can then accept, or offer a higher bid.

“Women are becoming less concerned with their looks,” says Wade. “Instead of lying about their physical appearance, they are far more concerned with their income or career, which would add potential value to the date.”
