Charity cycle rides raise £40k

A group of former school friends and business colleagues from Solihull have ‘trebled’ their efforts to raise a total of £40,000 for Macmillan Cancer and in memory of Veronica Partridge who benefited from their care.

This year saw the team of 21 (pictured) cycle a gruelling 300 miles from London to Paris in just three days to support the charity.

Andy Smallwood, Managing Director of Gallagher Heaths (far left, standing) who organised the event with property colleague Marty Gallagher, Director of Gallan Group (pictured front row, far right) said: “Everyone in the group knew my mother and three years ago we cycled 100 miles to raise funds for the charity and in her memory.

Last year we increased it to 200 miles and this year to 300 which was quite a challenge, but we are delighted with the result and feel it was a fitting way to thank the nurses for the care my mother received.”
