How LOW can you get?

Minnesotan slowcore band Low are making a welcome return to the Glee Club Birmingham on Wednesday 24th April 2013, as part of a UK tour.

Low are founding members Alan Sparhawk (guitar and vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums and vocals), joined by newer addition Steve Garrington (bass). Known for their impressive live performances, they create minimalist soundscapes and beautiful harmonies which also transfer to recorded albums.

Sub Pop Records (Nirvana) release Low’s 10th record, The Invisible Way, on 18 March 2013. The record was produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and engineered by Tom Schick (both Grammy winners) and recorded in Wilco’s studio in Chicago. The release marks Low’s 20th anniversary.

In 2010 Robert Plant covered their songs Monkey and Silver Rider on his Band of Joy album. Low have also previously toured with Radiohead, Dirty Three and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

‘Great music; it’s always been in the house playing away beside Jerry Lee Lewis and Howlin’ Wolf’ – Robert Plant
