This week at the Robin

Blues, Beefheart and things that don’t begin with ‘B’.

Tonight should be an interesting evening, when the Magic Band perform at the Robin. With two original members of the band that supported Captain Beefheart this promises to be a night of psychedelic nostalgia. Tickets £20

Tuesday sees a Robin debut for country soul singer Rachel Harrington with her band the Knockouts. Last year saw the release of her third album, the critically-acclaimed Celilo Falls, and this is Rachel’s first UK tour with a full band. Tickets £12

On Wednesday there’s the return of one of the top names in the modern blues world, Water Trout, with his band.  After years working with such legends as John Lee Hooker and John Mayall, Walter has found fame as a solo artist and is regarded as one of the world’s finest guitarists in his field. Tickets £15

Take That tribute Take Fat appear on Thursday. Tickets £8

On Friday there’s the return of Kast Off Kinks, featuring several members of one of the greatest British bands of all time, including original drummer Mick Avory. You won’t find a better band to play this music without a Davies involved. Tickets £12.50

On Saturday there’s UB40 tribute Johnny 2 Bad. Tickets £12
