Giving children a healthy start

Dance teacher Kate Whitewood is about to bring fun and dance to Bearwood  by creating a new generation of ballet stars.

The award-winning  babyballet Song and Dance Academy takes children from 6 months of age, and the emphasis is firmly placed on fun by use of props such as musical instruments, magic wands, catchy songs  and the fabulous lovable babyballet mascot ‘Twinkle the Bear’.

29 year old mum of two, Kate began dancing herself at the age of two and firmly believes that it is a perfect way of teaching children confidence, co-ordination and social skills. She said: “In a world where we are encouraging children to grow up to be fit and healthy, ‘babyballet’ is the perfect place to start. We fully encourage boys to come along to classes as its fantastic preparation for any sports they may choose as they grow up.”

babyballet Song and Dance Academy is already a hit with boys, girls and parents right across the country. All classes are friendly and non-competitive, and each child is rewarded with a certificate at the end of term.  Tap dance is also offered to children over two and a half years of age.

Classes start in Bearwood and Smethwick at the end of February and must be booked in advance.
